You can skip the first game

The FAQ says you do not need to have played Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation. The tutorial is woven into the campaign. That campaign is told from the United Earth Forces, set in 2031, and it introduces the Post-Human Coalition, Haalee, and Substrate. Haalee was created by Prometheon AI Corp.

Headquarters, orbitals, and spectating

Two-tier headquarters upgrades

Each faction headquarters can be upgraded twice, and the final tier adds a defensive weapon tied to that faction. The United Earth Forces mount a rail gun built to punch through armored targets, the Post-Human Coalition Nexus adds area-of-effect artillery batteries that clear infantry and light vehicles, and the Substrate headquarters gains Serpentine turrets with a balanced rate of fire against mixed groups.

Orbital abilities and friendly fire

Orbitals are active abilities that boost regional economy, drop units onto the field, or strike hostile armies directly. Large direct-damage orbitals inflict friendly fire if placed over allied troops. Scout orbitals hold multiple charges that replenish over time so commanders can bank uses, while EM Blast stuns enemy tanks and Titans without knocking down friendly infantry and Nano Mesh Barrier grants a temporary shield.

Observer mode views

Observer Mode lets spectators watch a live match from one commander's perspective with full access to their economy, resource flow, research, and army orders. Switching to Revealed View removes fog of war across the entire map, while Tactical View keeps the observed player's fog of war visible on screen so spectators can see what that commander actually knows.

Public tests

Next Fest demo

The demo fielded the United Earth Forces and the Post-Human Coalition, skirmish against AI, three maps, and multiplayer up to 8 players. It was extended through March 16, 2026 at 1:00 PM ET. AI difficulties run from Trainee through General.

September playtest

The public multiplayer playtest runs September 8-14, 2026. Players command the United Earth Forces or the Post-Human Coalition. Steam app 5042460 is the playtest, with a store date of August 26, 2026. A release livestream is scheduled for the November 10, 2026 unlock.
